Harry Styles gets tattoo, Taylor Swift comes along (Photo)

American sweetheart Taylor Swift recently spent time at a tattoo parlor -- but it appears it was only as a gesture of support for a special person.

The 23-year-old country and pop star recently accompanied her rumored boyfriend Harry Styles of the all-male pop group One Direction to the Shamrock Tattoo Parlor in Los Angeles, as seen in a Instagram photo that artist Freddy Negrete posted of the two, along with him and co-worker Isaiah Negrete.

As seen in the picture, published early on Wednesday, December 19, Styles, 18, received a tattoo of a pirate ship on his bicep. Swift did not appear to get inked herself. The two have been linked romantically for the past several weeks and have been photographed together in Los Angeles but have not confirmed a relationship.

"@harrystyles new tat and #taylorswift and me and @booboonegrete good times," Negrete wrote.

He told Us Weekly magazine: "Harry and Taylor seem to be very close friends. Taylor was enjoying her first experience in a tattoo shop while Harry got some new ink. They're great people, having a good time. Tattoos are always fun."

Zac Efron set to appear in historical JFK drama, 'Parkland'

Zac Efron is set to take part in an upcoming historical drama film about late president John F. Kennedy.

The 25-year-old actor is joining the cast of "Parkland," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which is also set to feature the talents of Marcia Gay Harden, draws from author Vincent Bugliosi's novel, "Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy." The film is set to recount the true story of the chaotic events that occurred at Dallas' Parkland Hospital on the day that U.S. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

While Efron's exact character has yet to be identified, the producers at the helm are eager to have Efron as a part of their cast.

"Zac Efron continues to impress us with his recent shift into more dramatic roles which showcase his exceptional acting skills and Marcia Gay Harden is an unparalleled actress who gives tour de force performances in every film she appears," said Exclusive Media co-chairman Guy East and Nigel Sinclair in a statement obtained by the magazine. "We look forward to seeing their combined talent in Peter Landesman's powerful and mesmerizing story alongside the excellent cast already attached to this film."

The film is set to be produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's Playtone with Exclusive Media. The historical drama will be penned by journalist and novelist Peter Landesman, and the project marks the writer's directorial debut.

Efron had his breakthrough role in the 2006 Disney Channel movie "High School Musical" and went on to appear in two sequels with cast members Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu. In recent years, Efton has played more mature parts, in drama films such as "Charlie St. Cloud" and "The Lucky One."

In the first movie, Efron played a heartbroken man able to see his deceased brother. When a new love interest is in trouble, he is forced to choose between saving a life or continuing to see his brother every day. The fantasy drama earned 12.3 million in its opening weekend.

The second film stars Efron as a Marine who survived three tours of duty in Iraq. In the film, his character credits his safety to a photograph of a woman he found while in Iraq and sets out to find out who she is. The movie grossed 22.5 million in its opening weekend.

'Oz The Great and Powerful' poster shows witch (Photo)

A new official poster for the new Disney film "Oz The Great and Powerful" has been released and shows what fans of the "Wizard of Oz" franchise have been expecting eagerly -- an image of a witch.

A spokesperson for the studio told OTRC.com on Wednesday, December 19, that the identity of the person, who sports green skin and a black, pointy hat and corset dress, will not be identified for now.

The movie stars James Franco as Oscar Diggs, a circus magician who takes a hot air balloon trip that is blown via a tornado from Kansas to Oz, where he becomes the magical land's new wizard. In Oz, he meets three witches -- Theodora, played by Mila Kunis, Evanora, played by Rachel Weisz and Glinda the Good Witch, played by Michelle Williams.

However, things are not as they seem and Franco's character must find out on his own who is actually good and who is evil. Meanwhile, the three witches are skeptical about him themselves.

Williams told reporters at Comic-Con in San Diego in July that she feels very lucky to be part of the cast of the half-animated, half-live action film, adding: "It's nice to put a little good back into the world. I think it really is, at its heart, a family movie."

The film also features Zach Braff, Abigail Spencer and "Evil Dead" actor Bruce Campbell, who has often worked with Sam Raimi, the director of "Oz The Great and Powerful."

"Oz: The Great and Powerful" is set for release on March 8, 2013. Check out the trailer for the film and interviews with Kunis and Franco below.

Michael Strahan: Why I never fixed my teeth

Michael Strahan, a retired NFL player and co-host of the newly-named 'LIVE! with Kelly and Michael,' says he has no plans to fix the gap in his teeth, which has become his trademark look.

However, he did think about doing it at one point.

"I was really close to closing it up," he told ELLE magazine in a December 2012 interview. "I was at the dentist having him do mock-ups. I thought about it, man."

"I was in my twenties. I was playing with the Giants. There's so much pressure to be perfect," he added. "You can fix everything now. For me, I made the conscious effort to say 'This is who I am.' I'm not perfect. I don't want to try to be perfect. At this point, I don't think my kids would recognize me without it. They'd be like, 'Who is this stranger in the house? Call 911!'"

Strahan has a son and daughter from his first marriage and twin daughters with his second ex-wife. He is currently engaged to Nicole Murphy, who used to be married to Eddie Murphy.

Dentists refer to a space between two teeth as diastema. Check out other celebrities who do not appear to mind their gap or imperfect smiles, as well as stars who have opted to fix their teeth.

Kardashian holiday card 2012 - Kim & family dreaming of white Christmas (Photo)

The Kardashians are dreaming of a white Christmas in their newest holiday card.

The famous family members and cast members of E!'s "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and the show's spin-offs wear white dresses and suits in the 2012 Christmas card photo, which was taken by Nick Saglimbeni and posted on main reality star Kim Kardashian's Celebuzz blog.

The picture shows Kim, her sister Khloe and husband Lamar Odom, her sister Kourtney and boyfriend Scott Disick and their son and baby daughter, Mason and Penelope, her brother Rob, the siblings' mother Kris and stepfather Bruce Jenner and the couple's daughters Kendall and Kylie.

Also pictured -- a white Persian kitten. Kim announced on her blog on December 7 that her 4-month-old cat Mercy had passed away recently as the result of a "rare stomach cancer." Her boyfriend Kanye West had given her the pet as a gift and the reality star said she had later given her to her sister Khloe's assistant after discovering she was allergic to cats.

West does not appear in the family's stylish Christmas card, a Kardashian tradition that began before the reality show debuted in 2007. And several family members did not even have to pose in person -- Khloe Kardashian Odom said on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last month that she, her husband, Kendall and Disick were all Photoshopped into the image.

Last year, the Kardashian family members posed in various tuxedo-style clothes. In 2010, they wore a variety of outfits of different colors, with Kim dressed in a white gown with a slanted opening in front, Khloe in a strapless, rose, ruffled dress and Kourtney in a suit.

Hugh Jackman reprising role of Wolverine in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

Hugh Jackman is officially returning to reprise his role as Wolverine in "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

"I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come...," Bryan Singer, the director of the upcoming installment Tweeted on December 18.

Jackman, 44, is expected to deliver his gritty impression of the mutant comic book character, Wolverine, in the film that's based on the 1980s "X-Men" comic book arc, "Days of Future Past."

The movie is set to follow the X-Men as they travel in time to change a major historical event that could globally impact man and mutant kind alike.

Jackman played Wolverine in the original "X-Men" trilogy and had a cameo in the 2011 prequel film, "X-Men: First Class." The actor was also in a spin-off film - "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," and is set to film a sequel, "The Wolverine." With all of his past works and upcoming endeavors, this marks the actor's seventh run as the clawed creature.

In November, Singer also confirmed on his Twitter account that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, who starred in the original "X-Men" trilogy, would reprise their roles as the elder versions of Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto in the new film.

The highly-anticipated action movie is expected to hit theaters summer 2014.

Jackman is also set to appear in the highly-anticipated musical film, "Les Miserables," alongside co-star Russell Crowe. In November, the star of the cult comic franchise admitted that he owed credit to Crowe for essentially helping him initially nab the role of Wolverine.

"We were good friends before. We knew each other a lot," Jackman explained to Entertainment Weekly. "And Russell has given me advice several times at key moments in my life that helped with my career. I also owe him because two of the biggest roles I've ever had in my life, he turned down - and suggested me for them...On 'X-Men,' he was Bryan Singer's first choice for Wolverine, and he mentioned me also for 'Australia.'"

Singer directed the first two "X-Men" films and is known for his other directorial works including "Valkyrie" and the popular FOX medical series "House M.D."

Jenna von Oy, Newtown native, pens essay to express condolences to victims

Jenna von Oy, an actress and singer likely best known for her role as Six LeMeure on "Blossom," is a Newtown, Connecticut native and recently wrote an essay on her hometown and the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting that took place on Friday, December 14.

The 35-year-old wrote in People magazine that she graduated from Newtown High School. She married to Brad Bratcher in the town two years ago. Her 6-month old daughter, Gray Audrey, was christened at St. Rose of Lima Church, where a vigil for the victims was held on the evening of December 14. The actress and singer also said she still has family that lives in Newtown.

"Newtown is the foundation of my history and it holds a very special place in my heart," von Oy wrote.

"It is nearly impossible to unscramble my thoughts and put them to paper at a time like this, but I wanted to express my love and support for the town that has given me so many wonderful memories," she added.

Officials say the suspected gunman Adam Lanza forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown and shot and killed 20 children and six adults. Authorities later discovered that Lanza, who took his own life after the shooting, also shot and killed his mother in their home.

"I grieve for the parents who lost their beautiful, innocent babies; some of them were friends from high school. My heart hurts for the families who have to explain this loss to the frightened children they brought home," von Oy wrote.

She later added, "I know, with absolute certainty, the residents of Newtown will rise up with love and strength in the face of their suffering. When you think of my hometown, I hope you'll think beyond this moment in its history. "

Since her role on "Blossom," von Oy has appeared on "The Parkers," "Cold Case" and has lent her voice to "Family Guy" and "Pepper Ann." In 2007, she released her debut album called "Breathing Room."

Olympic gold medalist and "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Bruce Jenner also has a personal connection to Newtown. Like von Oy, he attended Newtown High School.

"Not in a million years would you ever think that this quiet little town would have such a terrible, terrible tragedy happen there," he said in a statement to E! News. "You just can't believe it."

OneRepublic helps raise more than $73,000 for Newtown victims' families (Video)

The pop rock group OneRepublic is spearheading an online fundraising campaign to help the families of the 26 victims who lost their lives in last week's Connecticut elementary school shooting and as of Tuesday afternoon, more than $73,000 has been raised.

The goal, according to the fundraising website, was $50,000 and there are 27 days left to go.

"The one thing that we can do immediately is donate money to these families," singer Ryan Tedder says in a YouTube video posted on the page. "A lot of people won't be able to go back to work for weeks and weeks and weeks. Some of them lost the actual breadwinners of their families."

On Friday, December 14, a man shot dead 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut in what marked one of the deadliest and most shocking tragedies in U.S. history. The victims include 20 children and six adults -- two teachers, two teachers' aides, a psychologist and the school's principal.

"There's funerals to pay for, there's all kind of medical things, both physiological and physical that are going to be needing funding and the last thing that any of them should be worrying about it money," Tedder says. "So thankfully, it's 2012, we have the internet and nothing is quicker than that. So please, if you feel so inclined, donate five bucks, 10 bucks, 500, 5,000, as much or as little."

He said that the group had put in $20,000 to start the fund, which was created a day after the shooting.

"I don't know of any quicker, more immediate way of helping the victims of the Connecticut school shooting than removing any fear of financial obligation or worry what so ever. So we'd love for you to do your part and help us in this. Thank you," Tedder said.

OneRepublic said in a Twitter message on Tuesday, December 18: "Over $70K raised 4 Sandy Hook shooting victims with $30k in add'l commitments- that's $100K in 48 hrs! Lets hit $500k!"

OneRepublic is known for singles such as "Apologize" and "Secrets." On Tuesday, the band released a new song, "If I Lose Myself," which is currently streaming on SoundCloud. The track is featured on the band's upcoming third studio album, "Native," which is due to hit stores next year.

A day after the shooting, NBC's late-night sketch series "Saturday Night Live" paid tribute to the shooting victims with a performance of "Silent Night" by the New York City Children's Chorus.

On Monday, NBCs singing contest series "The Voice" honored the victims of the Connecticut school shooting with a moving performance of Leonard Cohen's 1984 ballad "Hallelujah."

Coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green Adam Levine joined finalists Cassadee Pope, Terry McDermott and Nicholas David, host Carson Daly and social media correspondent Christina Milian on stage on Monday's episode to sing the popular ballad, made famous by Jeff Buckley in 1994, as candles flickered in front of them. Watch the performance here.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres dedicated her first taped show since the shooting to the victims of the tragedy. It aired on Tuesday.

"My goal for this show every day is to make you happy, to make you feel good for an hour," she said. "I want it to be a safe zone. I want it to be light and filled with joy. I want you to know that you can watch with your family and it won't be mean or sad. I want it to be uplifting, and I want to celebrate all that's good with life."

"And we're going to do the show today, but it's going to be a struggle because my heart is broken for those families and for all the people in Newtown," she added. "We're holding you in our hearts and today's show is dedicated to you."

Michael Douglas' son Cameron beaten in prison, report says

Michael Douglas' son Cameron Douglas was reportedly attacked at a federal prison in Loretto, Pennsylvania, where he is currently serving time.

Cameron Douglas was sentenced in 2010 to five years in federal prison for drug distribution and heroin possession. In December 2011 he was sentenced to an addition four and a half years after being caught in prison with heroin and a prescription medication, according to a May 2012 article in The New York Times.

The New York Post reports that 34-year-old Cameron Douglas suffered a broken leg and finger after an alleged crime-family captain put a $100 bounty on the actor's son for "being a 'rat.'" The report also states that the young Douglas broke his femur but told staff members that he received the injuries playing handball.

The newspaper report states that Cameron Douglas was exposed as a source after his psychiatrist let it slip that Douglas agreed to testify against the suppliers of his drugs during a bail hearing in 2010.

Cameron Douglas has long battled issues with substance abuse. He is the son of actor Michael Douglas and his ex-wife Diandra Douglas. Michael Douglas, the son of actor Kirk Douglas, also has two children with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Cameron starred with his father as well as with grandfather Kirk Douglas in the 2003 film "It Runs In The Family."

Hollywood's reaction towards Newtown shooting

Web Produced by Alexandra Levy, Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- Like the rest of us, the entertainment community around the world has been stunned by the Newtown tragedy.

And like so many, they're stopping what they're doing, to remember the young victims.

A big movie premiere is cancelled and show business shares the shock and outrage over the tragedy in Newtown. Even the world's greatest rock and roll band is feeling the pain.

He is a rock legend and a musical icon but Mick Jagger is also a father.

And so in Newark on Saturday night, he paused-along with the rest of The Rolling Stones to remember those who died in Newtown.

"Just want to take a minute to send our love and condolences to all of the people that lost people they love in the tragedy in Connecticut," Jagger said.

Before resuming Jagger added the "entire world" was feeling the pain of their loss and he was by no means alone in expressing condolences.

Alicia Keys who helped raise money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy last week tweeted:

"My heart is so heavy right now as I think of these innocent children, teachers, their families and community."

Former "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks was typical of so many who wrote:

"I will never understand the evil in this world. On my knees praying for those families. I am in tears."

And Rhianna was praying for those families too tweeting:

"God have mercy!!!! No one deserves this! What a Christmas it will be."

The premiere of one of the big Christmas movies, "Jack Reacher" was put on hold by this tragedy.

An ex-military investigator played by Tom Cruise is on the hunt for a sniper who has killed five people. The red carpet debut which was set for Monday night in Pittsburgh has been postponed indefinitely quoting:

"Out of honor and respect for the families and victims."

The movie is still set to open in theaters everywhere on schedule this Friday.

Miss USA wins 1st Miss Universe crown since 1997

AP  HANNAH DREIERLAS VEGAS -- An American university student is the new Miss Universe, defeating dozens of contestants from six continents to bring the crown back to the U.S. after a drought of more than a decade.

Twenty-year-old Olivia Culpo won the title Wednesday night at the Planet Hollywood casino on the Las Vegas Strip, replacing outgoing champion Leila Lopes of Angola.

The Boston University sophomore's coronation ends a long losing spell for the U.S. in the competition co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC. An American had not won the Miss Universe title since Brook Lee won in 1997.

Culpo, who beat out 88 competitors, wore a tight navy blue mini-dress with a sequined bodice as she walked on stage for the event's opening number. Later in the night, she strutted in a purple and blue bikini, and donned a wintery red velvet gown with a plunging neckline.

No one was more surprised than Culpo's family when told them she was entering the Miss Rhode Island contest last year, her father Peter recalled.

"We didn't know a thing about pageants," he said.

She won that contest in a rented $20 dress with a hole in it and then began working out, dieting, and studying current events on flashcards to compete for the Miss USA crown.

Culpo was good enough during preliminary Miss Universe contests to be chosen as one of 16 semifinalists who moved on to compete in the main show. Her bid lasted through swimsuit, evening wear, and interview competitions that saw cuts after each round.

She won over the judges even after tripping slightly during the evening gown competition. Telecasters pointed it out but also noted her poised recovery.

Moments before she won, Culpo was asked whether she had she had ever done something she regretted.

"I'd like to start off by saying that every experience no matter what it is, good or bad, you'll learn from it. That's just life," she said. "But something I've done I've regretted is probably picking on my siblings growing up, because you appreciate them so much more as you grow older."

One of those siblings, 17-year-old Gus, was cheering from the front row with his sister's glittering Miss Rhode Island sash wrapped around his shoulders Miss Philippines, Janine Tugonon, came in second, while Miss Venezuela, Irene Sofia Esser Quintero, placed third. All the contestants spent the past two weeks in Sin City, where they posed in hardhats at a hotel groundbreaking, took a painting lesson, and pranked hotel guests by hiding in their rooms.

After the show, Culpo appeared wearing a white gold crown atop her long brown hair and told a group of reporters she hoped to bring the country some good news in the wake of the deadly school shooting in Connecticut.

"It's such an honor to be representing the USA in an international beauty contest in spite of all the tragedy that's happened in this country lately," she said. "I really hope that this this will raise everybody's spirits a little."

The daughter of two professional musicians, Culpo grew up in Cranston and spent her summers at band camp. She has played the cello alongside world-renowned classical musician Yo-Yo Ma, and followed in her parents' footsteps with performances at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Her father called her the "nerdiest" of her siblings, and her brother recalled that she was "really chubby and sort of weird when she was younger."

They speculated that the same single-mindedness that helped her master the cello in second grade propelled her rapid rise through the beauty pageant ranks.

With her promotion, Miss Maryland Nana Meriwether becomes the new Miss USA.

The Miss Universe pageant was back in Las Vegas this year after being held in Sao Paulo in 2011. It aired live on NBC and was streamed to more than 100 countries.

The panel of 10 judges included singer Cee Lo Green, "Iron Chef" star Masaharu Morimoto and Pablo Sandoval of the San Francisco Giants.

Asked on the red carpet whether he found playing in the World Series or judging the beauty pageant to be more difficult, Sandoval said both were hard.

As Miss Universe, Culpo will receive an undisclosed salary, a wardrobe fit for a queen, a limitless supply of beauty products, and a luxury apartment in New York City.

Alicia Keys releases 'Brand New Me' video, sued over 'Girl on Fire'

Alicia Keys released a new music video on Tuesday, December 18, for her single "Brand New Me," but it was a lawsuit over her "Girl on Fire" single that made headlines.

Earl Shuman, a songwriter who co-wrote the song "Lonely Boy" which was later recorded as "Hey There Lonely Girl" by Eddie Holman, filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in California on December 10 claiming that "Girl on Fire" has a sample of his song that was not credited, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which published the lawsuit.

The suit names Keys, Sony Music Entertainment and other defendants and also cites a blog post by ShowBiz411.com titled "Alicia Keys' 'Girl on Fire' Also a 'Lonely Girl' from 1970." The post, written by Roger Friedman, states, "...like a lot of Keys's songs, it comes with ingredients from past hits."

"In the middle of the song, Alicia sings a couplet or so from Eddie Holman's 1970 classic 'Hey There Lonely Girl," Friedman later added. "Keys only uses two seconds of the original, but it helps make her record. "

The suit notes that the article incorrectly stated that Shuman was dead and quotes the post in its in entirety. The lawsuit says, "Plaintiff alleges that the above observations by Showbiz411 are, in their essence, apt."

The lawsuit states that the defendants "did not obtain authorization concerning the use of 'Lonely Boy/Girl' before writing, producing, distributing and/or exhibiting "Girl on Fire."

"Girl on Fire," which was released in September, currently sits in the No. 12 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Keys has not released a statement in regards to the lawsuit.

In other news, the singer released the video for her single "Brand New Me," which is off her recently released album also titled "Girl on Fire."

In the video, Keys is shown wearing a curly wig and appears annoyed with a director of the video within the video. She later wanders into a studio and a room with mirrors where she triumphantly takes off the wig to reveal her shorter, natural hair. Keys goes back to the video shoot at the end of the clip and "The Journey continues..." flashes on screen.

Bill Clinton documentary by Martin Scorsese to air on HBO

Martin Scorsese, who brought us behind the scenes of the life of a Beatle, is set to direct and produce an HBO documentary about another international icon -- former President Bill Clinton.

The new project will be made with the 66-year-old U.S. leader's "full cooperation," the cable channel said in a Twitter message posted on Monday. A premiere date has not been announced.

"I am pleased that legendary director Martin Scorsese and HBO have agreed to do this film," Clinton said in a statement to the New York Times. "I look forward to sharing my perspective on my years as president, and my work in the years since, with HBO's audience."

This marks the third biographical film that Scorsese, who won an Oscar in 2007 for his film "The Departed," is helming for HBO and the fourth collaboration between the director and the cable channel overall. Since 1996, Scorcese has donated at least $12,000 to Democratic causes, including $3,500 to Clinton's wife Hilary's senate campaigns.

Scorcese directed the 2000 HBO documentary "Public Speaking," which is about writer Fran Lebowitz, and the 2011 documentary "George Harrison: Living in the Material World," based on the life of the late former Beatles singer. Scorsese is also an executive producer of HBO's Emmy-winning TV drama "Boardwalk Empire."

Clinton, a Democrat, former governor of Arkansas and avid saxophone player who was born William Jefferson Blythe III, was also the subject of a PBS documentary that aired earlier this year. He served as president for two terms and was first elected in 1992.

"During the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history," reads his bio on the White House website. "He was the first Democratic president since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second term."

"He could point to the lowest unemployment rate in modern times, the lowest inflation in 30 years, the highest home ownership in the country's history, dropping crime rates in many places, and reduced welfare rolls," it states. "He proposed the first balanced budget in decades and achieved a budget surplus. As part of a plan to celebrate the millennium in 2000, Clinton called for a great national initiative to end racial discrimination."

Clinton famously made headlines in 1998 over a personal matter -- a sex scandal centering around his extramarital affair with a White House intern, Monica Lewinsky.

The U.S. leader was impeached by the House of Representatives over charges of perjury and obstruction of justice due to what he had told a Federal grand jury regarding the nature of his relationship with the woman. He was later acquitted in a Senate trial. Clinton is the second American president to be impeached. The first was Andrew Johnson, who was later also acquitted, in 1868.

Despite the scandal, Clinton has been hailed as one of the most popular former U.S. leaders, especially among people between ages 18 and 34. He had won favor among many teens and Generation X-ers when he famously answered a question about his preference of undergarments during a "Rock The Vote" forum that aired on MTV in 1994 (he prefers briefs - watch video).

A July 2012 Gallup poll found that an average of 66 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion about the former U.S. leader. The average was 58 percent during the Lewinsky sex scandal, the company added.

A February 2012 Gallup poll showed that 60 percent of respondents ranked Clinton as an "outstanding" or "above average" president, ranking second below Republican late president Ronald Reagan.

Clinton was also a key player in international peace and military initiatives.

During his time as president, Clinton ordered U.S. forces to bomb military targets in Iraq after then-dictator Saddam Hussein stopped United Nations inspections for evidence of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons.

Clinton mediated Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations in the early 1990s and helped broker Israel's peace treaty with Jordan in 1994. In 1999 and 2000, he also mediated peace talks between Israel and Syria, but the negotiations failed to produce a deal.

Since he left office in early 2001, Clinton has focused on his philanthropic efforts, specifically his William J. Clinton Foundation that focuses on global health -- including the childhood obesity epidemic, economic inequality and climate change.

Dancing cop stops holiday traffic in Rhode Island

AP  RODRIQUE NGOWIPROVIDENCE -- Ah, Christmas in Rhode Island. Exquisitely decorated mansions in Newport. A red nose on the giant termite that sits atop a Providence exterminator's building. And a traffic cop, doing disco and salsa moves in the middle of rush-hour traffic.

Officer Tony Lepore is as much a holiday tradition as anything else in the state that issued the first jail sentence for speeding 108 years ago. Since 1984, he has entertained drivers, pedestrians and gawkers with dance moves in downtown Providence - all while directing traffic.

"He is a Rhode Island landmark, more or less. He's an icon, he's like a little mini celebrity," says Michelle Peterson, of Warwick. She's an emergency medical technician and the mother of three boys who was introduced to the "dancing cop" years ago by her partner in their ambulance.

This year, she took her boys to see Lepore, 65, perform and got him to pose for pictures with them.

"It feels good to see him out here; it definitely brings the holiday spirit. I think people come out here just to see him and I think it brings some people to shop so they can see him."

The routine, Lepore says, was born in the month of May of the boredom and aggravation that officers typically experience while directing rushing drivers and jaywalking pedestrians. He was inspired by classic "Candid Camera" television footage he saw a day earlier that showed police officers elsewhere directing traffic with flair.

"I didn't know if my bosses were going to like it, so a lot of times if I saw a boss come down, I'd be doing my fancy stuff, then I'd go back and do it the old-fashioned way so I don't get caught," Lepore says.

His secret didn't last long. City residents began calling the police station and raving about Lepore's moves. A few days later, The Providence Journal, the state's largest newspaper, came out with a story on the sensation.

The positive publicity encouraged officials to endorse the dancing cop, who continued to perform until he left the job in 1988, when he went into business with his brother with a food and vending service.

In 1992, Lepore says, he got a call from city officials asking him to rejoin the force to dance and direct traffic around Christmastime as they pushed to redefine the city's image and bring visitors downtown.

He signed a $1,200, 10-day contract as a reserve police officer and says he has frozen the value of the contract at the 1992 rate to encourage city officials to recall his services every year.

Standing in traffic, he adjusts his cap, shakes his hip, raises and twists one leg and spins. In one of the more unusual moves, he bends his knees, leans far back and quickly alternates support for his body by keeping one hand on the ground while motioning to the traffic with the free hand.

In one move, he goes down on his knees in homage to John Travolta's character in "Saturday Night Fever."

He says his body takes a pounding and that he has had knee surgery, pulled some muscles and even suffered stress fractures.

"This is ridiculous! Oh, man, this guy is the best," an incredulous Vik Jay, a medical student at Brown University, says after seeing the "Dancing Cop" in action for the first time. "I'm from San Francisco. I used to go to Castro Street, and this is far more entertaining than anything I saw there."

Karen DeAngelis, of Pawtucket, was on a bus when she saw Lepore perform while directing traffic. She got out to watch him before continuing her journey.

"I would come down here every year to see him if I were able to," she says. "I'm not able to, and I just so happened to be here today. He's that good and he's that entertaining, and he really cheers people up."

Lepore says his dance moves are planned to send specific directions to drivers to avoid causing confusion at the intersection.

"I do it in such a way that even the people in the cars know what I mean, 'cause every dance move means something to the driver, and I make sure that he knows or she knows what I want them to do," Lepore says.

The dancing is not a distraction and has never caused incredulous drivers to crash, he says.

"I think it would be more of a distraction if I was in a different town and they didn't know I was out there, but most of Providence, they even know me by the sound of my whistle," he said. "It's more of a spectacle where people love to just come down here and see me do it around Christmastime, and they enjoy it ... and I enjoy it."

Owner protests to get well-dressed Ikea monkey back

AP  TORONTO -- A woman whose pet monkey was found wandering in an Ikea parking lot protested Wednesday with some 15 other people at a Toronto Animal Services office Wednesday in an effort to get him back.

Yasmin Nakhuda alleges the Japanese macaque, named Darwin, was illegally taken from her by animal control officials and moved to a sanctuary in Sunderland, Ontario, where he now lives.

Nakhuda is due in court Thursday to try to get an interim order to have returned to her.

Her lawyer, Ted Charney, says he has been told the sanctuary plans to ask for the case to be adjourned Thursday.

"Nakhuda has no claim of ownership over a wild animal that is no longer in her possession," the sanctuary said in its response to her filing to have Darwin returned.

A filing from the sanctuary asks for an adjournment on several counts, including a request that it be given more time to gather evidence.

The sanctuary also claims that it now owns Darwin, arguing that unlike domestic animals, wild animals are owned by the person that possesses them and Nakhuda voluntarily turned the monkey over to Toronto Animal Services.

The young monkey captured worldwide attention earlier this month when he was spotted wandering the store parking lot in a little coat.

Nakhuda, a real estate lawyer, said she was never given the chance to remedy the situation after being fined $240 for breaking the city's prohibited-animal bylaw.

"I've spoken to a number of people in the legal community and they do agree that there is no statute allowing the city to take an animal away based on the circumstances," Nakhuda said at the protest.

In court documents, Nakhuda says she, her husband and their two kids would be willing to move to a city that allows monkeys in order to keep Darwin, whom they consider part of the family.

Nakhuda said she hopes to have Darwin back by Christmas.

The primate sanctuary has said the monkey is doing well and the agency was prepared to fight any legal challenges for its return.

Jenni Rivera's public memorial is scheduled for Wednesday

Jenni Rivera's family has announced the details of the late Mexican-American singer's public memorial service.

The memorial, which is set to take place on December 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., will feature services led by Minister Pedro Rivera Jr. and will be held at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles.

The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Jenni Rivera Love foundation in addition to a single white rose.

The family added that the burial services for Rivera will be privately held.

Rivera, 43, was confirmed to have been aboard a small plane that had gone missing after taking off from the city of Monterrey on December 9. Upon finding the wreckage, officials confirmed that the late singer was on board.

On December 14, the remains of the Banda singer returned to California after the singer's family positively identified them.

Three of Rivera's brothers accompanied her remains on a Thursday night flight from Mexico to Long Beach airport, according to The Associated Press.

OTRC.com's parent company, KABC-Television, has footage from the flight's arrival, which can be viewed below. Her casket was escorted by police to a Long Beach mortuary.

The 43-year-old is survived by five children and two grandchildren. Her family and friends in Southern California had held vigils on Sunday night after the tragedy. The aircraft, a U.S.-registered Learjet 25, had crashed after taking off from the city of Monterrey. The wreckage was found later in the day and Mexican officials had said there were no survivors.

Rivera, a Long Beach, California native, was known for her music with over 10 studio albums in the Banda and Nortena music genres, as well as her Mun 2 television series, "I Love Jenni," which debuted its first season in 2011.

David Letterman interviewed for 'Oprah's Next Chapter,' talks feud, sex scandal, Leno

Years after settling what appeared to be an on-air feud, David Letterman and Oprah Winfrey have reunited again for an episode of her OWN interview series "Oprah's Next Chapter."

The interview was carried out at Letterman's alma mater, Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He had grown up in the state and moved to Los Angeles to become a comedian. He and Leno met in 1975 and performed at the same clubs. Letterman got his big break by performing on NBC's "Tonight Show" in 1978. He began to host NBC's "Late Night" talk show, which airs afterwards, in 1982.

The relationship between Letterman and Winfrey had been strained for years, starting more than 15 years ago. At the 1995 Academy Awards, which Letterman hosted, a joke that featured him pretending to introduce Winfrey to actress Uma Thurman as "Oprah, Uma. Uma, Oprah ... Have you kids met Keanu?" fell flat. Winfrey and Thurman, who were sitting in the audience, laughed politely.

Winfrey then rejected offers to appear on "Late Night." In 1993, Winfrey told Time magazine that while she had appeared on the program twice, she felt that during both times, "I was sort of like the butt of [Letterman]'s jokes. I felt completely uncomfortable sitting in that chair, and I vowed I would not ever put myself in that position again."

Winfrey also added that she had a "great deal of respect for his talent." Meanwhile, Letterman often poked fun at the veteran daytime talk show host and had a running gag on his show called the "Oprah Log," which would show him talking about his goal of appearing on Winfrey's program.

The two appeared to reconcile in 2005, when she was a guest on the "Late Show." Letterman finally appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2007. Winfrey said at the time that her relationship with him had warmed.

Earlier that year, he and Winfrey appeared together in a commercial for his show that aired during the Super Bowl. They reunited on a similar television ad that also featured Leno.

In May 2011, Winfrey's talk series "The Oprah Winfrey Show" ended. Letterman joked that he was "more than upset" that he was not invited to the taping of the final episode, saying on his program: "I spent the last 12 to 15 years kissing up to Oprah. Every day I get out of bed and I think, 'What can I do to suck up to Oprah? Guess who wasn't invited? Thank you very much, Oprah."

Letterman and Winfrey discuss the so-called feud during their "Oprah's Next Chapter" interview, which airs on OWN on January 6 at 9 p.m. ET. This marks the first time Winfrey reveals to Letterman the "true reason" behind it, the cable channel said in a statement to OTRC.com.

He also talks about how he weathered a sex scandal that threatened his marriage, his battle with depression and his relationships with the late Johnny Carson of "The Tonight Show," and Jay Leno, who took over his role as host in 1992 and who remains a rival of Letterman, who had expected to get the job.

Letterman has spoken about these topics before. In 2009, Letterman admitted publicly that he had had sexual affairs with women who worked on the "Late Show" and said he would try to work things out with his wife Regina, the mother of his son, Harry. The talk show host added that he was the victim of an extortion plot. Letterman said on his talk show

A producer for the CBS show "48 Hours" was indicted for attempted grand larceny and accused of trying to blackmail Letterman by threatening to write a screenplay and a book about the affairs if the host did not pay him $2 million. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months in jail and was released after four.

In a 2011 interview with ABC's Barbara Walters, Letterman said he has "dabbled" in depression and received "medicinal help" for it, adding: "There's a difference in being sad and being blue and being depressed and being chemically or clinically depressed. I do know the difference between those and it's horrifying."
