Tommy Marth, longtime saxophonist for the Las Vegas band The Killers, was found dead from an apparent suicide at age 33.
"Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family," The Killers wrote on their official Twitter page on April 23. "There's a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy."
A spokeswoman for the Clark County Coroner's Office confirmed to the Associated Press that Thomas Christian Marth was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound to the head on Monday. He was found in the backyard, though it's unclear whose.
Marth also performed with Las Vegas bands Black Camaro and the Big Friendly Corporation. Marth was not a full member of the rock band, but played saxophone on their 2006 album "Sam's Town" and their 2008 album "Day & Age." He also played on the band's 2008 tour.
