Haley Joel Osment to star in 'Frankenstein' adaptation, 'Wake the Dead'

Haley Joel Osment, who rose to fame as a child star in "The Sixth Sense," is doomed to continue seeing dead people, as he has been cast in the upcoming film "Wake the Dead."

The 2012 horror movie is based on Steven Niles' "Wake the Dead" graphic novel, which was inspired by Mary Shelley's classic "Frankenstein" story. The film follows two young medical students who attempt to bring the dead back to life.

Osment is slated to play Victor Franklin, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The 23-year-old actor is best known for delivering the chilling line "I see dead people" in the 1999 M. Night Shyamalan film, "The Sixth Sense," which also starred Bruce Willis. Osment actor earned an Academy Award nomination for the role.

The actor also appeared in "Forrest Gump," "Pay It Forward" and "A.I. Artificial Intelligence." He made his Broadway debut in David Mamet's "American Buffalo" in 2008, working alongside John Leguizamo and Cedric the Entertainer.

He recently graduated from New York University and will also star in the upcoming homeschooler comedy "Sassy Pants."
