Jada Pinkett Smith fights human trafficking for daughter Willow

Jada Pinkett Smith joined Secretary of State Hilary Clinton in the fight against human trafficking, after her 11-year-old daughter Willow Smith decided "these girls need me."

The 40-year-old actress said that Willow, her daughter with Will Smith, learned about the cause after watching the KONY 2012 video about Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony, which went viral in the spring.

"She did her own research and realized that there were young girls her age in this country being trafficked for sex," Pinkett Smith told USA Today. "She was like, 'Mommy - you don't know what's happening!' I was like, 'Hold up, pause right there!' And, she was like, 'I've got to give my voice to this. These young girls out there need me.'"

"I was actually really quite ashamed that I didn't know about this particular situation in our country, because when you think about human trafficking, you think about it 'over there.' Wherever 'there' is," Pinkett Smith said. "When you talk about modern-day slavery, you don't see chains. It's all about the mind... So, it's a very layered, complex issue that's going to take some time for us to figure out how to pull apart... Right now, we just have to get aware."

With the encouragement from her daughter, Pinkett Smith and Will Smith visited the State Department on June 19, for Clinton's release of the 2012 Trafficking in Persons Report, which explains what the country is doing to prevent human trafficking.

"I will join Lou [Ambassador Luis CdeBaca] in thanking Jada Pinkett Smith and Will for being here, and through you, your daughter," Clinton said in her speech. "Because, as Lou said, it was their daughter who brought this issue to Jada's attention, and I am so pleased that she has taken on this cause. And we look forward to working with you."

Pinkett Smith and her band Wicked Evolution also recorded the song "Nada Se Compara" and made a music video, directed by Salma Hayek, which is featured on the site DontSellBodies.org. In the video, a teenage girl is seduced by an attractive boy, who sells her to a sex trafficker.

Pinkett Smith recently reprised her role as Gloria the hippopotamus in the animated sequel, "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted."

Will Smith is currently working on a remake of Annie starring Willow, with a screenplay written by his "Men in Black III" co-star Emma Thompson and songs written by Jay-Z.

'Brave,' 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,' 'Seeking a Friend for the End of the World' reviewed by Mr. Moviefone

Posted 59 minutes ago by 'Mr. Moviefone' Russ Leatherman

Last week's big releases were busts, but this weekend there's a little something for everyone. A comedy about the end of the world, a vampire slaying president, and the most anticipated family movie of summer hits theaters as a little princess makes big trouble in "Brave."

The latest Disney-Pixar creation stars Merida. She's a skilled archer who's more interested in adventure than finding a suitor. But when she tries to carve her own path and defies an age old custom, she unleashes a beastly spell in the kingdom.

The Reel Deal: Not quite living up to its title, or Pixar's best, "Brave" plays it pretty safe. But it's still an amazing looking, solidly entertaining family film that the whole family will enjoy. I'm in.

For a trendy twist on American history, how about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." It's Honest Abe like you've never seen him before. Adapted from a novel by the same name, "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" shows America's 16th president engaged in a battle against blood suckers.

The Reel Deal: A crazy mash up between "True Blood" and American history, "Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" is super stylish, just bloody enough, and just weird enough to keep fanged fans happy. It turned me. I'm in.

We've had many an action thriller about a doomed planet earth, now it's something to laugh about with "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World." A giant is asteroid is hurtling toward earth and people are making plans for their final days. Steve Carell plays a man whose world is already turned upside down when his wife leaves him. A letter delivered by a neighbor, played by Keira Knightley, sends him on a mission to find his high school sweetheart before it's too late.

The Reel Deal: With the delightful cast and indie feel, it's a warm hearted, quirky, funny antidote to the big overblown romantic comedy. If you liked movies like "Juno" or "Little Miss Sunshine", you'll like "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World." I'm in.

Also in theaters is Woody Allen's newest romantic comedy "To Rome with Love," starring Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin, Jesse Eisenberg and many more.

Prince William turns 30, set to inherit $15.7 million on birthday

Prince William, the second in line to the British throne, turned 30 on Thursday, June 21, and will therefore receive about $15.7 million inherited from his late mother, Princess Diana.

According to Hello! magazine and other outlets, her will called for the bulk of her estate to be held in a trust for William and his younger brother Harry and then given to them when they turned 25. After she died in 1997, executors changed the inheritance age to 30, the outlet says.

Diana left in her will a net estate of about 12.9 million pounds sterling after an inheritance tax of some 8.5 pounds was deducted, the reports say. The UK newspaper The Guardian says the sum is made up of "stocks and shares and jewellery, dresses, other personal belongings and cash" from a 17 million pounds sterling divorce settlement from William's father, Prince Charles.

"With shrewd investment, some commentators have estimated the estate could now be worth around 20 million - half for William, and half for his brother when he reaches 30 in September 2014," the newspaper said.

William, formally known as the United Kingdom's Duke of Cambridge, is currently staying with his father at his and wife Camilla's home in Highgrove. The younger prince plans to mark his birthday "in a low-key, private fashion," a St. James's Palace spokesperson told the UK Newspaper The Daily Mail.

William was born at 9:03 p.m. on June 21, 1982. Scores of people filled the streets outside the hospital where Diana gave birth to celebrate the birth of the boy who was set to one day become king.

The sandy-haired prince, who resembles his mother, soon became a heartthrob in his native UK and in many other countries. In July 1995, he began attending Eton College, studying Geography, Biology and Art History. He took a year off to participate in UK army training exercises in Belize and Chile. He also worked on British dairy farms and visited countries in Africa.

William later enrolled at St. Andrews University in Scotland, studying Geography. He graduated in 2005. During his time at school, he met Kate Middleton. They would go on to date on and off before marrying on April 29, 2011 in a ceremony televised around the world.

The two wed at Westminster Abbey, the site of Diana's funeral. The princess and her boyfriend were killed in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 after being chased by celebrity photographers. She was 36. William and Harry were 15 and 12 years old at the time. Her funeral was also televised and drew a global audience of about 2.5 billion people. She was laid to rest on an island at the Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire, north of London.

Prince William said in an interview with ABC's Katie Couric in May that he is "very sad" Diana will never get the chance to meet his wife Kate, while his brother Harry added that their late mother would have "loved" the duchess and had the "best seat in the house" at the royal couple's 2011 wedding.

After graduating from college, William joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as an Officer Cadet and was commissioned as an army officer in front of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in December 2006. He joined the Household Cavalry as a Second Lieutenant and the queen appointed him to become a Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter in 2008, according to his official website.

William is currently a Search and Rescue Pilot with the Royal Air Force and is based at Anglesey, Wales. The Daily Mail says he has the authority to "command RAF Sea King helicopters during rescue missions."

William also spends his time touring, often with his wife, to promote his charities and taking part in other royal commitments. Earlier this month, he and Kate joined Queen Elizabeth II for events marking her Diamond Jubilee, which celebrates the 86-year-old monarch's 60 years on the British throne.

William, Kate and Harry are also set to attend the 2012 Olympics in London in July as ambassadors to the British Olympic and Paralympic teams.

What to Look Out for When Booking a Children's Entertainer at a Birthday Party

Snooki and JWoww admit they like each other sober

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley, whose spin-off "Snooki & JWoww" premieres on June 21, admitted that they like each other sober.

When asked by Rolling Stone magazine during a game of "would you rather" whether JWoww would rather help out pregnant Snooki or drunk Snooki, the reality star said, "Pregnant all the way. She was easy breezy."

Of her cohort, 24-year-old Snooki said, "I enjoy both. When Jenni is drunk, she's fun and she's crazy and she makes me crack up. When Jenny is sober, she's like a sister and I can talk to her about anything. So I would say both."

On the "Jersey Shore" spin-off, the self-proclaimed BFFs are shown moving into an apartment together and Snooki reveals to JWoww that she was pregnant and engaged to her boyfriend, Jionni LaValle.

Even though there's a baby on the way, Snooki is in no rush to get married, and told MTV News, "I definitely don't want to get married anytime soon, I don't want to rush everything and get married just because I'm pregnant. I want it to be very special, because I'm only getting married once, and this is the guy. You might as well have the baby and then get all looking good again and then have a wedding and have the baby in the wedding. I want to make it very special."

Meanwhile, JWoww said that aiding her pregnant friend was all the birth control she needed to avoid motherhood with her boyfriend of two years, Roger.

"I want to be selfish just a little bit longer - [it] made me kind of put a chastity belt on!" JWoww told Access Hollywood. "It gave me the itch to wait a while."

The pair promised plenty of drama in the upcoming season, even with the hard-partying Snooki off the sauce. In an interview with MTV News, the pintsize reality star said that there are a lot of fights between JWoww and Roger, she told the site, "I'm excited to watch it ... and I was there."

In a trailer for the series, JWoww is shown accompanying Snooki and her fiance Jionni LaValle to an ultrasound. The couple announced her pregnancy in March. "Honestly, I didn't know I can make a baby," Snooki said in the preview. "So the fact that I can reproduce is very scary."

MTV announced on March 19 that it has picked up "Jersey Shore" for a sixth season and that all the cast members will return. The new season will film in the show's original location of Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

"While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same," MTV's statement said.

It is unclear if Polizzi will be living in the house with her fellow cast members. JWoww and Snooki are not the first cast members to get their own spin-off. Co-star Paul "Pauly D" Delvecchio debuted his show, "The Pauly D Project," in late March.

"Snooki & JWoww" premieres on June 21 at 10 p.m. on MTV. Check out the preview for the show and an MTV News interview below.

Alec Baldwin drops pants on 'Late Show' to 'change the subject'

Alec Baldwin dropped his pants on "The Late Show with David Letterman," joking that he would do anything to "change the subject" from his scuffle this week, with a Daily News photographer.

"You were talking about swimsuit season, correct?" Baldwin asked Letterman on the June 20 episode. "I've been trying to diet and I've lost so much weight that the problem is none of my clothes fit me. If you put your hands in your pockets, your pants come down."

Baldwin stood up and let his khaki pants fall to the ground. Letterman also joined in on the pants-dropping, after which Baldwin joked, "You can see, I'll go to any length to change the subject from current events."

The 54-year-old actor did go on to address the reports that he punched a New York Daily News photographer, telling Letterman, "He's very masterful at getting really close to you with the camera," Baldwin said of Santos. "They want you to react. No one got punched, by the way."

"I kinda pushed him out of the way because he almost hit me in the face with the camera," Baldwin explained. "Had I punched him, I'd be in jail. Then I would have pressed charges against him for assault. Then we would both be in the jail cell together. And you don't want to know what would happen in the jail cell, if we were together in the jail cell."

The incident took place outside of the Manhattan city clerk's office, where Baldwin and his fiancee Hilaria Thomas had gone to obtain a marriage license.

New York Daily News photographer Marcus Santos filed an assault complaint against Baldwin, claiming that he is suffering from a headache, dizziness and a sore chin after Baldwin allegedly punched him. The New York Police Department said that Baldwin is cooperating with the investigation. It is unclear if criminal charges will be filed.

Santos also spoke out about the incident on "Good Morning America" on June 21, claiming, "I never hit him with the camera. He threw a punch right on my chin. I had a mark yesterday."

Santos, who is a news photographer and doesn't usually photograph celebrities, said that he tried to move backward to "soften the blow" and wants to see Baldwin prosecuted.

"I have nothing to say to him," Santos continued. "I'm just feeling embarrassed about what he did to me. I like to take a picture and have my picture be on the front page, not me be on the front page. I don't want to be a part of the news."

Baldwin's rep denied the claims in a statement to People magazine, "As Alec and his fiancee were leaving City Hall, a 'civilian' walking in front of Alec positioned himself to obstruct the view of a photographer aggressively trying to shoot the couple, The photographer was clearly frustrated, pushed past the bystander and assaulted Alec with his camera. There were no punches thrown, and any subsequent physical contact was simply Alec protecting himself."

Baldwin is reportedly expected to wed Hilaria Thomas on June 30, 2012. The "30 Rock" actor, of the most popular TV stars today, proposed to the 28-year-old yoga instructor in April.

Watch an excerpt from Alec Baldwin's interview on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and the New York Daily News photographer's interview on "Good Morning America" below.

Kate Beckinsale of 'Total Recall' showcases bikini body (Photo)

Kate Beckinsale, who is set to star in the upcoming "Total Recall" remake, donned a bikini on the July cover of Women's Health magazine and revealed that she hasn't always been fit.

"I wasn't particularly athletic," Beckinsale told Women's Health of her childhood. "No one ever thought, 'I must have Kate on my team.'"

As an adult, Beckinsale has worked hard to keep her body in perfect condition for action films which also require fighting scenes and cat suits.

In January, the 38-year-old British actress told OnTheRedCarpet.com that she had a hard time filming her movie "Contraband" in New Orleans, because the delicious food would make getting into her "Underworld" cat suit difficult.

"New Orleans is a wonderful city, but it's not the most fantastic place to get in shape because we want to go try those beignets and all those wonderful things," Beckinsale told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "It's got the worst kind of 'Underworld' suit food, really. So it was a miracle."

"I guess having had a lot of training for the first one, thank goodness, it wasn't quite as extensive as that but there were still a lot of complicated fight scenes to learn and stunts I hadn't done before and just the sheer terror of getting back into that suit, which is a bit like a put your bikini on and stand in Times Square kind of feeling," Beckinsale said of the challenge.

Beckinsale is known for the "Underworld" vampire films, including a fourth installment "Underworld: Awakening," which is due in theaters on Jan. 20, 2012. She has also appeared in films like "Pearl Harbor," "Serendipity," "Click" and "Van Helsing."

Beckinsale will next appear in "Total Recall," which sees Colin Farrell take over Arnold Schwarzenegger's role in the 1990 film, as Doug Quaid, a factory worker who suspects his memories may have been implanted and that he is actually a spy. He then finds himself a wanted man.

In the new film, Farrell teams up with sexy freedom fighter Melinda, played by Jessica Biel. They set off to try and change the political system in their country, which is controlled by a fascist president, portrayed by Bryan Cranston. Kate Beckinsale takes on Sharon Stone's old role as Lori, Quaid's wife, who may not be who she seems.

"Total Recall" is set to be released on August 3. Watch the trailer below.

Katy Perry preparing to launch her own record label

Katy Perry is preparing to launch her own as-yet-unnamed record label and said that she plans to give artists a "fighting chance" for financial success.

"I'm preparing for it now," Perry told the Hollywood Reporter in their June cover story. "And when this record label does come to fruition, I'm going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I'm thinking, 'How would I want to be treated?'"

Perry has voiced her frustration in the past with major record labels. She was first signed to Universal's Island Records at age 16 and was dropped after being pitted against other pop star hopefuls.

In 2004, she was brought on to Sony's Columbia Records, but ended up only being utilized for her songwriting ability before being dropped. Finally, Perry was signed to EMI's Capitol Records and got her first album, "One of the Boys" released in 2007.

Before her hugely successful career took flight, she depended on the kindness and faith of her manager Bradford Cobb, who sometimes cut her a check when she couldn't afford rent. Perry recalled being offered mediocre deals when she was a songwriter and hopes to pass on her business smarts to those on her label.

Perry's "Teenage Dream" album had six songs top the charts in the past two years. Her recent "California Dreams" tour grossed $59.5 million with 124 shows.

Perry split from husband Russell Brand late last year. The British comedian cited "irreconcilable differences" in the documents, which were filed in a Los Angeles Superior Court on December 30, 2011. The couple had no children together.

Katy Perry's upcoming 3D documentary, "Katy Perry: Part of Me," is slated to hit theaters on July 5 and will give fans an inside view of the pop star's international tour and personal life, including her relationship with Brand.

The pop singer released the music video for her newest single, "Wide Awake" on June 19. In the song, which is purportedly about Brand, Perry sings, "I'm wide awake. I was in the dark, I was falling hard with an open heart. How did I read the stars so wrong. I was dreaming for so long. I wish I knew then what I know now. I wouldn't dive in, I wouldn't bow down."

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo expecting baby boy

Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa Lachey are expecting a baby boy, the host revealed on her personal website on June 21.

"Nick and I are incredibly excited to share the news that we are expecting a baby boy," Vanessa wrote on her website. "We can't wait to meet him soon!"

Nick Lachey, a 38-year-old former 98 Degrees singer, announced the pregnancy on the ABC show "LIVE! with Kelly," which he guest-hosted with Kelly Ripa on March 5. Vanessa Lachey, 31, is set to give birth this fall.

Vanessa told fans in March that she was hoping to have a boy Tweeting, "#ToBeClear @NickSLachey & I are praying for a healthy baby First & Foremost! I just always envisioned a boy 1st to take care of his siblings."

Vanessa Lachey rose to fame as an MTV personality and co-hosted the ABC competition series "Wipeout" last year. She describes herself on her Twitter profile as a "Host by day, Wifey by night, Wanna-be Mommy all the time."

Nick Lachey told OnTheRedCarpet.com in mid-June 2011: "We want to have a family and we're very excited about that, so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't take too long. At least that's my hope. I'm getting up there. I gotta start pumping them out."

Vanessa Lachey had told OnTheRedCarpet.com around the same time, before their wedding, that the two wanted to "start having babies" after she filmed "Wipeout" in September 2011.

The two dated on and off for about three years before they announced their engagement in November 2010. They went public with their relationship soon after she appeared in his music video "What's Left of Me," which was released in 2006. The clip depicts Nick Lachey's marriage and divorce to Jessica Simpson, who is played by Vanessa Lachey.

Nick Lachey and Simpson were married between 2002 and 2006. The 31-year-old pop singer, who is also a cast member of the new NBC show "Fashion Star," recently welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew with fiance Eric Johnson.

She and Nick Lachey starred on the MTV reality show "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica," which documented their married life together. His and his current wife's wedding was also televised, as part of a TLC network special.

Kristin Davis, Aaron Sorkin kiss at 'Newsroom' premiere

Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte in "Sex and the City," and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin kissed in front of scores of photographers at the red carpet premiere of his new HBO show "The Newsroom" in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 20, following recent a report about a possible romance.

In late May, E! Online reported that Davis, 47, and Sorkin, 51, had been dating for six weeks. The actress' spokesperson declined to comment about the matter. Sorkin's rep had no immediate response.

They are both single parents - the actress adopted a baby girl, Gemma Rose, in 2011 and the screenwriter has an 11-year-old daughter, Roxy, from a previous marriage. Photos of the pair kissing tenderly were posted on websites of outlets such as Us Weekly.

Davis is not a cast member of "The Newsroom," which premieres on HBO, on Sunday, June 24. Many of its main actores, such as Jeff Daniels, Olivia Munn, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston and Dev Patel, attended the premiere, as did Kristin Bauer van Straten, who stars in another HBO series - "True Blood".

"Sex and The City" aired on HBO between 1998 and 2004. Davis reprised her character in two films.

Sorkin earned an Oscar for penning the script for "The Social Network" and multiple Emmy Awards for writing and executive producing "The West Wing." In addition, Sorkin is known for films like "A Few Good Men," "Sports Night" and "Moneyball."

In "The Newsroom," Jeff Daniels stars as news anchor Will McAvoy who is usually content to keep his opinions to himself on-camera, but after a spontaneous political outburst, is put on an "enforced vacation." Upon his return from the professional fallout to his evening cable show "News Night," McAvoy finds that most of his staff have jumped ship for another show and he is forced to work with new team members hired during his absence.

"I have great respect for the guys who actually sit behind that desk and have to read that teleprompter and are able to do it without screwing up words," Daniels told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the premiere. "It's not as easy as it looks."

The HBO drama is set in the not-so-distant past, in April 2010, and interweaves real-life news stories with the drama between characters in the newsroom.

Sorkin has said that "The Newsroom" is about "Don Quixote, a workplace family, romantic comedy, being young and alone in the city, forgiveness, the trivialization of the news, false equivalencies, false balance, false neutrality and a team of people who want to do their jobs well."

Fiona Apple: I have really bad obsessive-compulsive disorder

Fiona Apple released her first album in seven years on Tuesday and revealed that her battle with obsessive compulsive disorder has limited her in her life and career.

"I had really bad obsessive-compulsive disorder," Apple told Elle magazine. "At its worst, I was compelled to leave my house at three o'clock in the morning and go out in the alley because I just knew that the paper-towel roll I threw in the recycling bin was uncomfortable, like it was lying the wrong way, and I would be down in the garbage."

Obsessive compulsive disorder, or OCD, is categorized as an anxiety disorder characterized by unreasonable thoughts and fears, which become obsessive that lead you to do repetitive, compulsive behaviors, according to the Mayo Clinic.

After getting frustrated with her disorder causing her to waste time, Apple told Elle that she wrote on her chalkboard, "Don't waste your crazy!"

Apple, a veteran singer-songwriter who's known for her eclectic and experimental rock style, said that she doesn't leave her Venice Beach home easily, except to go to the Los Angeles nightclub Largo, where she spends time with musician friends.

"I have no social life or anything like that... I used to be really ashamed of it, but now I can just freely say that I don't ever go anywhere or have people over," Apple said. "I still get psychosomatically ill going to Largo, to see my friends, getting in the car... and my brother will take so [expletive] long - because my brother has to drive me everywhere - and I'll start freaking out, and it won't stop until I'm actually there."

The 34-year-old singer's ten-track album, "The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do" has received extremely positive reviews.

Apple performed her first show outside of Los Angeles in five years at the South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival in March. At the event, she debuted a number of new songs from her new album, "The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do."

The Grammy-winning singer's 2005 "Not About Love" video featured comedic actor Zach Galifianakis following Apple around, lip-syncing the song. The album that the track is from, "Extraordinary Machine," was named the 49th best album of the 2000s by Rolling Stone magazine in 2009.

Several other stars have opened up about their struggle with OCD in the past including Howie Mandel, Alec Baldwin, Jessica Alba, Billy Bob Thornton, David Beckham, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Megan Fox, Justin Timberlake Charlize Theron and Katy Perry.

K. Michelle talks about domestic abuse, music and 'Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta'

K. Michelle, star of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" and R. Kelly's musical protegee opened up about being her music and reality TV career.

"You have to stay tuned, but my role in the show is just kinda my story about being a single mother and a singer who's just going through the day-to-days of trying to get my career back on track and finding love again," K. Michelle told Vibe Vixen magazine. For so long, I've been kinda against [finding love] because my past situation was so bad. So, you definitely get the real K. Michelle and where I'm at in my life."

In December 2008, the R&B/Soul singer and songwriter was signed to Jive Records, where she met her label mate R. Kelly, who became her mentor. K. Michelle is the only artist featured on R. Kelly's 2010 album "Love Letter."

"Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" premiered on June 18 and is a spin-off of VH1's original "Love & Hip Hop" series. During the premiere, K. Michelle accused Jive Records music executive Mickey "Memphitz" Wright of domestic abuse. On the series, she said that she was in a violent relationship with the man who signed her at Jive and claimed that he beat her and spent her recording budget on himself.

Memphitz celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary with Lil Wayne's ex-wife Toya this week. Toya took to Twitter to address the rumors of abuse, re-Tweeting a fan's post which read, "@MeMpHiTz & @ToyaWright been married a whole year now all of a sudden ppl accusing him of being abusive?? #HATERSINDABUILDIN."

When visiting "Girl Talk" on IPower 92 radio station this week, K. Michelle told TT Torrez that she wasn't afraid to talk about the relationship, "I wasn't scared about that because you are only scared when you're lying and you only get scared when there aren't any facts. His family still talks to me and they know the truth. For me, it was like, I still try to do it right and not be shady out of respect for Toya and the situation. I did not even say his name... He probably is a different man now. Different women bring out different things in men. I wasn't the one to calm him."

K. Michelle told Vibe Vixen that she plans to continue concentrating on her music career. Her single "Bury My Heart," which was featured on "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta," is currently No. 19 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart. Her new album, "0 [expletive] Given," is slated for release on July 9.

"My main focus has been my music and it's not gonna stop," K. Michelle said. "I was signed to a record label, and I hardly got any promo. I can see today that more people are picking up old music like it's new. I think it's gonna help me and people get to know who I am and it's up to me to make sure that the music sticks. One thing R. Kelly told me is that once you get the attention, you have to keep it with the talent."

The 26-year-old singer is also a single mother to her son, 7-year-old Chase Boyman. The reality show will follow K. Michelle as she ventures back into the dating world.

"I do want to find Mr. Right, but I feel like I need to heal a little bit more," K. Michelle said. "[My ideal mate would be someone with] big arms, God-fearing, someone that my son can grow up like. That's a very big thing for me in dating. And just someone that can make me laugh. I'm a handful, so someone who just knows how to let me be me."

AP  Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK -- The New York Press Club is condemning Alec Baldwin's alleged assault of a newspaper photographer outside a marriage license bureau.

The press club released a statement Wednesday saying Baldwin's actions "should not be tolerated." They say he is a public figure and that his activities are "legitimate subjects of media interest."

Police have confirmed that Daily News photographer Marcus Santos had filed a complaint against Baldwin. They say Santos claims he was punched while snapping photos of Baldwin and his fiancee on Tuesday.

The "30 Rock" star says he was only protecting himself. Baldwin's publicist accused the photographer of being the aggressor and says the actor defended himself after the photographer assaulted him with a camera.

An NYPD spokeswoman says no charges have been filed and that police are investigating.

Angelina Jolie as 'Maleficent': Disney releases first image, begins production (Photo)

Walt Disney Studios has begun production on the new Angelina Jolie film, "Maleficent" and has released the first image of the Oscar-winning actress in character as the horned character, first seen in Disney's 1959 animated classic "Sleeping Beauty."

The movie is set for release in 3D on March 14, 2014, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. "Maleficent" depicts the untold story of what Disney calls its "most beloved villain."

In "Sleeping Beauty," Maleficent, an evil sorceress, unleashes a curse upon a baby princess, Aurora, in a bid to punish her parents for not inviting her to the child's christening. The spell calls for her to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die just before her 16th birthday.

A good fairy then amends the curse so that Aurora instead falls asleep and can be woken up by True Love's Kiss. The man who seeks to give her one, Prince Phillip, ends up battling Maleficent to get to the sleeping princess. The villain then turns into a fire-breathing dragon and the two engage in what has become one the most memorable battle scenes in animated Disney films.

"Maleficent" "reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora," Disney's statement said.

Others cast in the film are Elle Fanning of "Super 8" fame, British stars Juno Temple of "Atonement," Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville, Sam Riley and Miranda Richardson, who played nosy journalist Rita Skeeter in the "Harry Potter" films, as well as South African actor Sharlto Copley. The actors' roles have not been revealed.

"Maleficent" is helmed by Robert Stromberg, who is making his directorial debut. He is known for his work as a production designer for the 2009 record-breaking 3D half-animated smash "Avatar" and Disney's 2010 film adaptation of "Alice In Wonderland." He won Oscars for both projects.

Stromberg worked as a visual effects supervisor on the 2004 film "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" and as a matte painting supervisor on the 2006 movie "The Good Shepherd" - two projects that starred Jolie. He also worked as a visual effects designer on productions such as cable network HBO's show "Boardwalk Empire" and films such as "The Golden Compass" and "There Will Be Blood."

The screenwriter of "Maleficent" is Linda Woolverton, who wrote the script for the 2010 film "Alice In Wonderland" and also helped pen Disney's animated classics "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," "Mulan" as well as the 1993 animal film "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" and episodes of 1980s cartoons such as "Dennis the Menace," "Teen Wolf," "Popples," "Ewoks" and "My Little Pony 'n Friends."

Jolie, 37, is known mostly for her dark, "femme fatale" roles and won an Oscar for playing a mental patient in the 1999 film "Girl, Interrupted." She has not appeared on screen since the 2010 film "The Tourist." In 2011, she voiced a character in the animated movie "Kung Fu Panda 2" and made her feature film directorial debut with the foreign-language war movie "In The Land of Blood and Honey."

The 37-year-old mother of six told The Hollywood Reporter in December 2011 that she "adores screenwriter Linda Woolverton's revisionist take on the fairy tale and the complex relationship between Maleficent and Sleeping Beauty."

She also joked that her and partner Brad Pitt's children were excited about her making the movie and often call her "mom-elicent."

Nick and Drew Lachey announce '98 Degrees' reunion performance

Nick and Drew Lachey have announced that their popular 1990s boy band 98 Degrees will be reuniting - for one night only.

The two will team up with former group members Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons for a one-time gig at the Summer Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania in August. Drew and Nick Lachey, brothers in the band, announced the news on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM morning radio show on Wednesday.

"We're very excited about the opportunity," Drew said. "We've been toying around with the idea for a couple years of, 'If we got back together, when would be the right scenario,' and this music festival right here just kind of seemed like the right time to get back together and do a show and kick the tires and see how it feel."

The 35-year-old singer's brother Nick also took to his Twitter account to announce the news of the performance.

"Big announcement with @RyanSeacrest today. Felt like 2001 all over again! Can't wait for August 18th in Hershey. Be there. #98degrees" he Tweeted.

The band formed in the late 1990s and split in 2002. The group is known for hits such as "I Do," "Because of You" and "Give Me Just One Night." The singers had four successful studio albums and have performed together at special events, such as on Nick & then-wide Jessica Simpson's 2004 "Family Christmas" TV special, after the split.

Nick, 38, also explained on the show why he had previously denied the rumors that the group would be reuniting for a tour.

"I didn't say we weren't going to do it, but there was some speculation about a full tour happening this summer and our fans have been kind of eager to see us get back together," he said. "I just wanted to make sure that they understood that a full tour wasn't happening this summer, but obviously very excited to announce that we're doing this big festival in Hershey in August. So, that will be our one and only appearance."

Nick and wife Vanessa are expecting their first child together. The television personality recently played a game with her Twitter followers where she exchanged photos of her followers' baby bumps for a photo of her own.

Minnillo posted a silhouette photo of her own pregnant figure. The 31-year-old is seen from the side sitting in shallow water in an ocean backdrop. She made it her new Twitter background picture (See photo).

Hugh Jackman to host free short film festival in New York

Hugh Jackman will be hosting the Tropfest short film festival in New York City's Bryant Park on Saturday, with the help of several celebrity judges.

Tropfest is being billed as the world's largest short film festival and will be free and open to the public. Jackman said in a statement to the Associated Press, "[If] you've got a mobile phone you can make a film, you can enter. It's a great way for me to support the arts and anybody who wants to can get involved."

A panel of celebrity judges, including Rose Byrne, Judah Friedlander and Jennifer Westfeldt will vote on the best film, actor and actress. The winner for best film will get $20,000 from The Motion Picture Association and a week of meetings with studio execs, agents and managers.

"The movies are not judged on technical merit because that's one way to make film very elitist. It's not so much about that or the quality of the lens but more the strength of the idea and the concept," Jackman said. "Previously it's people who may have been excluded or may not have the money but they have the talent and here they can show it."

The entries have already been narrowed down to eight finalists, which are each required to feature the "Tropfest Signature Item," which was a bagel. The festival was started by director John Polson, 20 years ago in Australia.

Jackman, who is known for playing Wolverine in the "X-Men" franchise, said he wanted to promote the festival because he knows from experience how hard it can be to break into the entertainment industry.

"When I first graduated from drama school I knew the statistics that 98 percent of actors were unemployed. I vowed to myself that every day I would do something for my career. I wasn't going to sit back. I was going to actively get out there and participate," he said. "Here is a way that anyone can contribute. There's no whining, 'But I'm a filmmaker it's so difficult, I can't get an agent.'"

Jackman, a Broadway vet who won a Tony Award for his role in "The Boy from Oz," finished a 10-week run of his one-man Broadway concert show on January 1. The show, called "Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway," earned more than $2 million in its final week.

Jackman is set to return to Broadway in 2013 to star in a musical about magician Harry Houdini. The story for the musical will be written by Oscar-winning writer Aaron Sorkin, known for writing "The Social Network" and creating "The West Wing," with music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz, who penned the music and lyrics for the Broadway hit "Wicked."

Jackman married actress Deborra-Lee Furness in 1996. The couple adopted two children together - Oscar and Ava Eliot, 6.

Ashley shocked her family and fans with a 2011 memoir, "All That is Bitter & Sweet," in which she revealed many personal details about her childhood. She talked about witnessing drug use in their home, her personal experience of sexual abuse and feelings of neglect and suicidal thoughts. Her sister and mother revealed on the OWN series "The Judds" last year that they too suffered sexual abuse when they were children.

Ashley guest stared on Naomi's Sirius XM radio show earlier this month. They talked about their relationship and her mother said she never knew about the molestation until she read the book.

Judd's children, Elijah, 17, and Grace, 16, attended her wedding. Their father is the singer's first husband, yacht businessman Arch Kelly III. The two were married for about two years and she filed for divorce in 1998. Judd was also married to D.R. Roach for four years. They divorced in 2007.

Photographer says Alec Baldwin hit him

Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- A New York City news photographer says he was punched by Alec Baldwin outside a marriage license bureau in Manhattan.

The Daily News reports that Marcus Santos was snapping images of the "30 Rock" star with his fiancee Hilaria Thomas Tuesday morning. Santos told the paper that Baldwin grabbed a second news photographer, then started shoving Santos and hit him in the chin. He then walked away.

Santos told the newspaper, "I knew he was going to attack me. I stepped back, and he kept coming." He claimed the actor shoved him before punching him "one time, right in the chin."

The photographer has gone to a hospital to be examined for injuries.

Photos on the newspaper's website appear to show Baldwin shoving the photographer.

A Twitter message on Baldwin's feed read: "A 'photographer' almost hit me in the face with his camera this morning. #allpaparazzishouldbewaterboarded."

Baldwin later tweeted, "I suppose if the offending paparazzi was wearing a hoodie and I shot him, it would all blow over..."

"As Alec and his fiancee were leaving City Hall, a 'civilian' walking in front of Alec positioned himself to obstruct the view of a photographer aggressively trying to shoot the couple," Matthew Hiltzik said. "The photographer was clearly frustrated, pushed past the bystander and assaulted Alec with his camera. There were no punches thrown, and any subsequent physical contact was simply Alec protecting himself."

A New York Police Department spokeswoman confirmed the allegation was under investigation.

Baldwin was slated to attend an American Heart Association event at the Grand Hyatt tonight and walk the red carpet. The Heart Association says that Baldwin has notified the organization that he will not walk down the carpet, nor will he be available for interviews.

Last year, an American Airlines flight was delayed by Baldwin's refusal to stop playing a cellphone game. Baldwin later asked for forgiveness from fellow passengers but stopped short of apologizing to the airline or the flight attendant he later mocked on Twitter.

Aaron Sorkin talks 'swashbuckling' writing in HBO series 'The Newsroom'

Aaron Sorkin has a knack for portraying the insider perspective in his films and decided to take on the media with his new HBO series "The Newsroom."

"[The series is about] Don Quixote, a workplace family, romantic comedy, being young and alone in the city, forgiveness, the trivialization of the news, false equivalencies, false balance, false neutrality and a team of people who want to do their jobs well," Sorkin said in an interview provided by HBO.

Sorkin earned an Oscar for penning the script for "The Social Network" and multiple Emmy Awards for writing and executive producing "The West Wing." In addition, Sorkin is known for films like "A Few Good Men," "Sports Night" and "Moneyball."

"I enjoy writing about workplaces that I find interesting and workplace families," Sorkin continued. "Mostly I like writing idealistically and romantically and in a swashbuckling way. A newsroom - or at least my version of a newsroom - is a place where all of that could live. Somewhere along the way, journalists went from heroic to derided and I wanted to write about a group of journalists who are doing their best to do the news well - reaching unrealistically high and slipping on a lot of banana peels and doing it all in the name of an honorable mission."

In "Newsroom," Jeff Daniels stars as news anchor Will McAvoy who is usually content to keep his opinions to himself on-camera, but after a spontaneous political outburst, is put on an "enforced vacation." Upon his return from the professional fallout to his evening cable show "News Night," McAvoy finds that most of his staff have jumped ship for another show and he is forced to work with new team members hired during his absence.

McAvoy's new executive producer is MacKenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer), who returned from 26 months in Iraq and Afghanistan. McHale was once romantically involved with McAvoy and knows there is idealism beneath the anchor's veil of apathy and cynicism.

The series also stars Sam Waterston (Law & Order), Dev Patel ("Slumdog Millionaire"), Alison Pill ("In Treatment"), Thomas Sadoski ("Reasons to Be Pretty"), John Gallagher ("Spring Awakening") and Olivia Munn ("I Don't Know How She Does It").

The HBO drama is set in the not-so-distant past, in April 2010 and interweaves real-life news stories with the drama between characters in the newsroom.

Jeff Daniels, who is known for roles in "Terms of Endearment," "Dumb and Dumber" and "The Squid and the Whale," told the Associated Press that Will McAvoy is "the role of a lifetime."

His character's outburst, which occurs during a panel at Northwestern University between two pundits - one conservative and one liberal, McAvoy concludes that America is a mess and the media shares the blame.

"It's NOT the greatest country in the world - not anymore," he blurts out, silencing a shocked crowd. After his rant, McAvoy sums up bitterly, "We lead the world in only three categories: number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real, and defense spending."

Sorkin described his style as "aspirational writing. I'm less interested in the difference between good and bad, than in the difference between good and great. As with Tom Cruise in 'A Few Good Men' or Michael Douglas in 'The American President,'" he goes on, pointing to a pair of his hit films, "I like taking good guys who are getting by with charm and high IQ and who then, for whatever reason, are forced to be better. And be great."

"The Newsroom" will premiere at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday, June 24 on HBO. Watch a trailer for the series below.

Ex-boxer Mike Tyson takes one-man show to Broadway

AP  MARK KENNEDYNEW YORK -- Mike Tyson wants his next knockout to be on Broadway.

The former boxer announced Monday that he will team up with director Spike Lee to bring his one-man show, "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth," to the Longacre Theatre for six nights only, July 31 to Aug. 5.

The show, a raw confessional on the highs and lows of the life of the retired heavyweight and tabloid target, will mark both Tyson's and Lee's debut on Broadway. It made its debut in April for a weeklong run at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"I'm very vulnerable and I'm just telling you who I am and where I'm from and how this happened," Tyson said at a news conference at the Longacre, wearing white pants, a white shirt and a gray jacket.

Tyson, like Lee a Brooklyn native, became the youngest-ever heavyweight champion in 1986, when he won his title as a 20-year-old. His life since then has been marred by accusations of domestic violence, rape and drug use.

"It takes courage to get in the ring," said Lee, who urges theatergoers to have an open mind when it comes to the work. "But it takes courage to get on the stage."

Tyson, 46, said he was inspired to do a one-man show after watching Chazz Palminteri tell stories about growing up in his show "A Bronx Tale." The boxer said: "I'm really just excited about this genre here."

Tyson said that the show would be "raw" and "filthy" and that he would show his vulnerable side. It will include tales about his stormy marriage to actress Robin Givens, his time in prison, his relationship with his trainer and surrogate father, Cus D'Amato, and the time he spent in a psychiatric clinic as a result of his addiction to cocaine. One story sure to return is one in which he spotted Givens returning to her home in his car with Brad Pitt.

Lee is the director behind such films as "Do the Right Thing," ''Malcolm X" and "Inside Man," and much of his films make bold statements about race relations in the United States. He said he saw a DVD recording of Tyson's show in Las Vegas and immediately signed up. The pair will start work on it after the July Fourth holiday.

"It's a great story and he tells it masterfully," said Lee, who calls it a tale of redemption that only needs some tweaking from the Vegas edition. "He's lifted himself off the canvas."

Tyson began boxing in a facility for juvenile delinquents in upstate New York at the age of 12. Eight years later, he became the youngest heavyweight champion ever when he knocked out Trevor Berbick.

But in 1990, he was defeated by James "Buster" Douglas in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, and soon after he was convicted of raping a beauty pageant contestant in Indianapolis. Tyson, who still denies he raped the woman, served three years in prison.

As his career continued, so did his bizarre behavior. He bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear during a boxing match and once threatened to eat the children of heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis.

Over the past few years, there have been charges of cocaine possession, driving under the influence, scuffles with photographers, parts in films like "The Hangover" franchise and tragedy, including the accidental death of his 4-year-old daughter, Exodus. He said he's been clean and happily remarried for the past few years.

His show follows a line of recent one-man shows to hit Broadway, including ones by William Shatner, Hugh Jackman and Kathy Griffin. They're cheaper than a full-blown production and more flexible, both godsends to theater owners with empty venues. Tickets for Tyson's show are priced $75 to $199, with VIP tickets going for $300.

Alec Baldwin on Daily News scuffle: I'm not decking photographers willy-nilly

Alec Baldwin has spoken up about the paparazzi scuffle on Tuesday, claiming it's not in his nature to punch photographers "willy-nilly."

The 54-year-old actor appeared on "The Charlie Rose Show" on Tuesday night and told the "CBS This Morning" co-host of the photographer, "The guy lunged and almost hit me in the teeth with the lens of the camera, So I just pushed the guy away."

The incident took place outside of the Manhattan city clerk's office, where Baldwin and his fiancee Hilaria Thomas had gone to obtain a marriage license.

"People think that I'm out there decking photographers willy nilly - nothing could be further from the truth," Baldwin said. "I mean, I'm in front of a courthouse, the place is crawling with cops. If I'm slugging a photographer out in front of a courthouse - I mean, I'm dumb, but I'm not that dumb. There must've been 10 cops right there on the block."

New York Daily News photographer Marcus Santos filed an assault complaint against Baldwin, claiming that he is suffering from a headache, dizziness and a sore chin after Baldwin punched him. The New York Police Department said that Baldwin is cooperating with the investigation. It is unclear if criminal charges will be filed.

Following the incident, Baldwin Tweeted, "A "photographer" almost hit me in the face with his camera this morning. #allpaparazzishouldbewaterboarded."

"The photographer who assaulted me has (belatedly) gone to a hospital claiming injuries. [Daily News Editor] Colin Myler and his NOTW scams come to NY," Baldwin wrote of the incident later in the day.

Santos, the photographer who filed a complaint against the actor, also spoke out about the incident, claiming that Baldwin came after him like "a raging bull." In his interview, he claimed that Baldwin punched and shoved him.

It seems that the actor's troubles did not end on Wednesday, June 20 as he Tweeted, "15-20 cameramen outside my bldg this am, chasing me on my bike. They're knocking into ppl on the street, yelling 'Will you seek help, Alec?'"

Baldwin is reportedly expected to wed Hilaria Thomas on June 30, 2012. The "30 Rock" actor, of the most popular TV stars today, proposed to the 28-year-old yoga instructor in April.

Shortly after the engagement, Baldwin slammed the newspaper The New York Daily News on Twitter, saying that two reporters, dubbed "no-talent trash," crashed Thomas' yoga class to try to take her picture and posted a photo of one of them.

The New York Daily News also published a photo of the actor and his fiance at the time, in an article titled "Alec Baldwin's yoga instructor fiance, Hilaria Thomas, may be the antidote to his famous temper." In the story, other teachers offer Baldwin advice on how to calm down and describe several yoga poses.

Jim Parsons, Rihanna cast in 'Happy Smekday!' - Dreamworks animated sci-fi film

Jim Parsons and Rihanna are teaming up as an unlikely duo in a new Dreamworks animated film, the company announced on Friday, June 20.

The movie, "Happy Smekday!" is set for release in late 2014 and is based on the critically acclaimed book "The True Meaning of Smekday" by Adam Rex. The story is about aliens who invades earth and begins to use it as a hideout from their enemy. When one alien blows his cover, he goes on the run with a teenage girl. They embark on several globe-trotting adventures and he learns what it is like to be a human.

This is the first big-screen animated role for Rihanna, who made her acting debut with the sci-fi-action film "Battleship," which was released in May. She is also filming the comedy movie "The End of the World," which stars the likes of James Franco, Emma Watson and Jason Segel and is set to hit theaters in 2013.

Parsons is known for his Emmy-winning role as nerdy Sheldon Cooper in the CBS comedy "The Big Bang Theory." He has also appeared in movies, such as "Garden State," "10 Items or Less" and "Gardener of Eden," as well as last year's film "The Muppets," which starred Segel.

Parsons is not a newcomer to animation either - he provided the voice of Milton in the animated series "Pound Puppies," which aired on the cable channel The Hub in 2010.

Tim Johnson of the animated movies "Over the Hedge" and "Antz" will direct the film, while Chris Jenkins of Disney-Pixar's 2010 hit movie "Up" and Suzanne Buirgy of Dreamworks' "Kung Fu Panda 2" are serving as producers. The screenwriters are Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember, who co-penned the script for the 2008 Steve Carell comedy film "Get Smart."

AP  GREGORY KATZLONDON -- The man who once was among the world's most eligible bachelors has turned 30 - but things are not so bad for Prince William as he celebrates his birthday with family and friends.

Palace officials say William will mark the milestone in private with his wife, the former Kate Middleton, and perhaps some close friends. They say a low key celebration is planned.

William has been pursuing a military career as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot while easing into married life and taking on more royal duties. He is stationed at an air base in north Wales and was recently on a temporary deployment in the Falkland Islands in the south Atlantic.

He and his wife have made a number of public appearances in recent weeks, often representing his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, at events to mark her 60 years on the throne, a year-long celebration called the Diamond Jubilee.

He has seemed increasingly comfortable in public, escorting his wife, formally known as the Duchess of Cambridge, to high society soirees and "meet and greet" events.

There has been widespread speculation about the couple possibly starting a family. The talk has been fueled by William indicating that he would like to have children someday.

Along with Prince Harry, they are expected to play a prominent role as special ambassadors at the London Olympics.

William also stands to inherit an estimated 10 million pounds ($15.7 million) on his birthday under the terms of the will of his late mother, Princess Diana.

The precise amount is not known because the current value of the trust set up by his mother has not been made public.

Palace officials decline to comment on William's private finances, and it is possible he may choose to leave the money in a trust.

His brother, Prince Harry, stands to inherit a similar amount when he turns 30 in 2014.

William is second in line for the throne behind his father, Prince Charles.

Ashton Kutcher's company sues DMV for $1.44 million over reality show

Ashton Kutcher's production company is suing California's Department of Motor Vehicles for $1.44 million, claiming that it breached a contract that would have allowed the firm to film a reality TV show about the state agency inside its facilities.

The DMV has not commented about the lawsuit, which the actor's firm, Katalyst Media, filed at a Los Angeles court on Tuesday. There are approximately 23 million licensed drivers in California, the most populated U.S. state, according to the DMV's website, Without making an appointment, customers often have to wait inside its offices for hours to carry out their business.

"The series was conceived and designed to capture the variously humorous, emotional, dramatic, moving, humanizing and entertaining solutions that arise on a daily basis at DMV's more than 170 offices across the state of California," states the complaint, which was obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com.

Katalyst, which also produced Kutcher's hit MTV prank show "Punk'd," claims that in June 2010, the DMV made a commitment in writing to collaborate with the company on the new reality show.

It says that in May 2011, the parties had a written agreement that called for the DMV to allow Kutcher's company access to its "various facilities and personnel in California" that summer and fall for "the purpose of filming four initial episodes," or "specials" for the reality series, "involving the day-to-day activities between DMV employees and its customers."

Kutcher's company says it had an agreement with the cable channel TruTV to air four half-hour episodes of the show and that the firm "spent literally hundreds of thousands of dollars" on pre-production costs.

"Despite this, just six weeks after signing its agreement, DMV abruptly and without justifiable excuse, changed course," Katalyst's lawsuit says, adding that one of its producers then received a "five-sentence letter" letter from DMV Deputer Director Mike Marando that said that the agency "no longer considered the series to be in its 'best interests' and would therefore 'not be moving forward on such a project."

Kutcher's company claims claiming that its parties have suffered damages valued at "no less than 1.44 million."
